Welcome to Set The Table! You might be wondering how exactly two sister-in-laws ended up running a food blog together—especially when one of us once set fire to toast. Let's rewind.

ree

Meet Carissa: Our resident chef, trained under fancy chefs who use words like "emulsion" and "mise en place." She can julienne carrots blindfolded and knows exactly what "umami" tastes like. Carissa believes cooking is an art form—beautiful, intentional, and precise.

And then there's Tayla: Proud mum-of-two, zero culinary training, who once googled "can you microwave eggs?" (spoiler: don’t). She believes cooking is a survival sport involving toddlers who might throw peas across the kitchen and questions like "is chocolate a vegetable?"

One fateful evening, over a questionable lasagna and some well-earned rosé, an idea was born:

What if healthy, homemade food didn’t need to be hard? What if cooking could actually be...fun?

From that spark, Set The Table was created. Our mission is simple:

  • Real food: Ingredients you can pronounce (mostly).

  • Fast: Because time is precious, especially with bedtime negotiations with toddlers.

  • No drama: Burnt pans? Spilled milk? Tayla locked in the pantry stress-eating crackers? Totally normal.

Together, we're here to help you see cooking as less of a chore and more of a hilarious adventure. Expect recipes that even Tayla can master, along with tips from Carissa that'll make you feel like a secret kitchen ninja.

So grab a glass, laugh with us, cook with us, and let's keep it deliciously real. Welcome to our table—we're thrilled you’re here.

Love,

Tayla & Carissa xx
